PERKS
The biggest perk is free entry into the Festival each day you have a shift! After your volunteer shift, you are free to enjoy the event. If your shift begins mid-day or at night, you can check-in early to receive your credential and enjoy the Festival. YOU MUST still return to Volunteer Central at your designated call time, or you will be counted as a no-show.
You will get a limited edition volunteer t-shirt to wear while you are on shift and to keep as a kick-ass memory of your time volunteering. We have plenty of water for you, but please remember to bring a water bottle. Those Texas summer days can be scorching.
Last but not least, you will be part of a team that is putting on a one-of-a-kind event. It is a fun way to meet people with shared interests and you will have the satisfaction of knowing you were a big part of making the Festival happen.
CREW DESCRIPTIONS
Camp Counselor: Assist in keeping the camping area organized and clean. Will be monitoring the traffic flow and where party people are stationed. One of the first friendly faces people see.
River Greeters: These volunteers will help patrons in guiding them to the shuttles that will take them to and from the tubing company, help floaters exit the river, and direct them to the festival. You might be in or around the water and talking to a lot of folks. Outgoing extroverts needed! You will be chatting up people and getting them pumped to go see music.
Main Entrance: Greeters will be near the festival entrances or Box Offices. The roles will be to meet and greet and help fans. You might be one of the first volunteers that our patrons meet and you should be friendly, enthusiastic and helpful. You will answer any questions from patrons and help them on their way into the Festival or direct them to the Box Office.
Info Booth: Your role is to help patrons by answering questions; anything from directing them to stages to finding the nearest bathroom. The Info Booths include Lost & Found; you will keep a log of lost items or help identify and return items that have been turned in. The fans will love you!
Water Station Jockey: At water stations throughout the park, volunteers will assist patrons who are filling bottles with filtered, cool water from special spigots. Patrons love the water stations, you will help keep the lines moving and make sure the stations are organized.
Credential Check In: This team will help run the Check-In tent and complete other duties as assigned. You will be giving out creds to vendors, fellow volunteers, media and artists. Volunteers must be professional, friendly, helpful and organized. This is a special team requiring the highest caliber of volunteers to represent the Festival.
VIP Hospitality and Catering: Refresh food and beverages as needed. Spot clean areas. Help set up and tear down any spaces in the vicinity. Greet and make guests feel comfortable.
Runner: You are the go-to volunteer! Sometimes you will be waiting around; sometimes you will be going from assignment to assignment. You have to be flexible, and just about willing to do anything. Come with a great attitude!
FOR ALL VOLUNTEER CREWS
Availability: We give priority to volunteers who are available for a shift each day of the festival (all two days). A typical shift is 4 to 6 hours each day during the festival show days Saturday July 22nd and Sunday July 23rd. Depending on the intensity of the job, some shifts are longer.
Shift Times: We select volunteers who are flexible with their schedule and can work shifts at various times each day (each team usually has a morning, afternoon, and evening shift).
HOW TO APPLY TO BE A VOLUNTEER
Volunteers are assigned to a team and earn a wristband for the day of their shift. A volunteer will need to arrive 20 minutes early to their shift. Each volunteer will receive a 15 minute orientation prior to their first shift every day in order to be trained and prepared for the shift(s).
If you are chosen to volunteer, you will receive an email confirmation directing you with further instructions and requiring you to respond to confirm your acceptance.
Once we process your registration we will sign you up on your preferred crew and assign you to shifts. You will then receive an email from us showing you the crew and shifts you will be working.
